My new little Toy

Today is such an exciting day:) My very first new DSLR is arriving. After much research and Alex visiting every Ritz camera shop in a 60 mile radius (twice), we decided to go with the Nikon D40. I knew from the beginning this was the perfect camera for us, but those of you who know Al, know that his indecisiveness caused him to go back and forth and spend day's researching. It is actually soo cute to see how excited he is getting about this. Anyhow, of course in the end as expected he bought me the wonderful, fabulous Nikon D40.

I love photography, I always have. I have taken hundreds and hundreds of pictures in my lifetime. The day's of digital photography makes it so much easier to capture any moment you want. I remember when I had a 35 mm camera, film was so expensive, so you had to be very frugal with what you took pictures of. However, ever since I bought my first ps back in 2004, I take pictures of everything and anything. Thank goodness for snappish which is where I store all of my wonderful pictures. It is awesome and so easy to organize by year, month and title.

Anyhow, the work day is almost over and Al is coming over so we can play with our new toy--excitement is jumping out of my skin:):)

Michele's Loss

I got a call last night from my mom, with horrible new's. My sister-in-law's baby had passed. My mom was not taking it real good and I was in shock. Michele was due any day. Nine months she has carried that little girl. I am just devastated for her. She went yesterday to her weekly doctor appointment and baby did not have a heartbeat. They sent her to the hospital immediately and that is when they told her the baby had passed. They induced her labor last night and she had a six pound 13 oz little baby girl. I was told that she has Michele's eye's and her boyfriends nose:):) My heart just aches for her, I can't even imagine a loss like that. It was said that the baby had the umbilical cord wrapped around it's neck thus causing the problem. My nephews have no idea yet. Michele is out of the hospital and tonight they are going to tell them. Life can be so hard and so unfair. My prayers, love and thoughts are with Michele, Ray and the boy's on this heart aching day.

New puppy

Wow, it is hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. Life has been so busy and stressful that I really have not had a chance to write. Thanksgiving turned out great. Everything was so beautiful an all the food (with the exception of the spanikopita) turned out delicious. I realized how hard it is to cook for a big group yet so enjoyable.

I am not sure where or what is happening to time but I feel as if I never have time for anything. There are so many things I want to do but never enough time to do any of them. I really need to prioritize my thoughts and my life so I can begin to accomplish things that need accomplished.

On another note I became a dog aunt again to a little guy named Halo. He is super cute and cuddly and the best part is that I can enjoy a puppy but don't have to do all of the work:)

Well, after the holiday's I promise to pick up on these posts--as for now they will be choppy and probably not make sense:)

It has been awhile

Vacation was great last week. I never took a whole week of vacation to do nothing. I usually go on trips or visit family. This was a selfish vacation about JUST me:):) I started out the weekend with a trip to PA. My mom catered to me as I watched allot of movies and rested on the couch. I did manage to make it to the hair salon to get my hair done but the was the extent of leaving the house. Then we drove back on Sunday and Al came over. The rest of vacation I really did nothing of importance. I managed to catch up on allot of needed sleep. There were actual mornings I actually slept in until 10:):) I did remodel my spare bedroom and spent the day at the spa with my mom and sister.

In other news, I applied for a new job yesterday. During vacation I really thought allot about my happiness, and this job does not make me happy, in fact it never did. I never wanted to take this job, but I felt obligated at the time. I am happy however for the experience and how this job will look on my resume. To be honest I never wanted a career and I somehow ended up with one--LOL Funny how life works. I think a change will do me good, plus I will be my own boss again which is always nice. We will see how things turn out--there are two openings one in Arundel Mills and one in Odenton--so we will see what my future has in store.

As far as today I am just worrying about the next 4 days I have off. I am so excited. I am having Thanksgiving this year, so I need to get home and start preparing the food:) The following people will be at my First official thanksgiving dinner:

Mom, Dad,Alex,Laura, Julie, Michele, Tyler,Josh,Misti, Donny, Madison, Mike & Karina.

It is going to be so much fun. Then Al and Mike plan to do the whole black Friday thing, so I will be up all night taking them hot chocolate and blankets trying to keep them warm:) It should be a great Holiday. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving:)

This could be the new bedding----

Last night I went to Arundel Mills (TJ Max) looking for my bedding. Although, I did not find the exact match, I bought this one.

I am still looking for the other one but if all else fails this one is still fantastic:):) After that I met Misti and TGI Friday's for dinner and drinks:) It was nice reminiscing about old day's and talking. Then I went home watched a movie. For some reason I could not sleep last night, I had so many random thoughts running through my head. Finally, was able to fall asleep at 4. So needless to say I am very tired today:):) 1 day left to vacation:)

Ideas for Guest Bedroom

I am in the process of designing my guest bedroom. I am definitely going for the Chocolate brown and blue look. I want it to be cozy yet modern, without going over a strict budget. I really like the bedding and curtains in this pic:

Any ideas would be appreciated:):)

Boring Tuesday

Last night I got me and Laura Subway and we watched Spiderman. It was not as good as I expected. After that I went to bed. I am looking forward to going to PA this weekend to spend some time at the homefront. I love going to my parent's it is always so relaxing and fresh and cozy:):) Can't wait. Then I am going to start my vacation with a bang of completely organizing from top to bottom my home:):) Then on Wednesday Al is taking off and we are spending a few relaxing hours at a spa-this is what we are getting:

"Romancing The Stone • You and your significant other will be escorted to one of our two private couples suites where you will
unwindside-by-side and enjoy our Hawaiian Rapture 75-minute massage. Then relish in our hydrotherapy tub, while our exotic
blends of essential oils and sea salts ease your tensions and nourish the skin................................................................."

That is well deserved:) Then my mom is coming on Thursday to stay the rest of the week. We have some simple projects planned. I just love when she comes because she makes everything look so nice at my house:) So the whole week is going to be about me and my house--a well needed vacation:):)
